Mel, Chez & Katrina!!

This weekend was perfect! It all started Friday night with a date with my dad and sister to go see Carlos Mencia...funny funny man!! I haven't laughed so hard in my life. After the show I went over to Angie and Daniels for a little live music around the campfire. It was perfect campfire weather, cold enough for a jacket but not so cold that you were frozen to the core! After that we went home and watched a couple of episodes of Lost which is always fun in my book. I woke up Saturday with a smile on my face because I got to go to the airport and pick up my long lost friend Katrina!!! She came to Texas for Mel's bridal shower and I haven't seen her since her wedding over a year ago. So Jake and I went to pick her up and then the three of us headed to Hills Cafe for some good Texas style food. After lunch we went back to the apartment, packed up and headed to pick up Chez. I had a great time, catching up with my girls on the way to the thriving metropolis that is Corsicana, Texas. The best part of our little road trip was pulling up into Mel's driveway and seeing her reaction when she saw Katrina. Mel knew that Chez and I were driving in for the shower but she had no clue that Katrina would be with us. The four of us caught up on all the details of life and then all of Mel's wedding plans. We stayed up until 3:30 talking and eating birthday cake ice cream. The next morning we all enjoyed a much needed morning off and slept in until about noon, well all but Chez. I think she was up much earlier. We went to Mel's shower and then headed back to Austin. Katrina and I hung out for a little while and then decided to get some more sleep. All day Monday was spent doing some retail therapy!! We hit up Nordstrom and then the new outlet mall. Finally our great weekend came to an end with an amazing dinner at my parents house.

I have missed having time with my girlfriends so much so for me to have a weekend full of it was great. Now if it would only be January so we could all be together again that would be great!!

Weekends are too short!!

For those of you that are still getting used to the post college real world as I am, I know you will back me up on the fact that there never seems to be enough times during the weekend but Monday-Friday will last a lifetime without fail. I try to cram so many things in on the weekend and still spend quality time with my family and Jake but it never seems like enough.

Regardless of the fact that they are never long enough this weekend was a good one. I got to go shopping at Crate and barrel for Mel's shower gift. Jake had to brave the store with me but it wasn't too bad and I got lots of ideas for my future kitchen!!! We had date night and made steaks which is always good because the guy can cook. Saturday I got a call from one of my friends to let me know that she was coming to visit and that made my life, or at least my month! I also got to spend some much needed time with my dog Benson. He lives at jakes house because there is a yard there for him to run and play in. With that said during the week I never get to see him so when we brought him to the apartment Saturday and Sunday I was so happy. We went to petsmart on Saturday and bought him a new chew toy which he has already caused some damage on and some new treats! I feel like I have to spoil him when I see him to make up for never seeing him!

Jake and I were going to go visit my parents and some of their friends, but we didn't have time to get out there so I'll have to chalk that up to time owed! Sorry Mom I love you and we'll go shopping or something!!

Not much else has happened, just business as usual. I am looking forward to having a 3 day weekend in a few days. Chez and I are driving to Corsicana for Mel's shower and it should be fabulous. I haven't spent enough time with my girls so I am beyond ready!! Besides that this week is looking like any other week, although I did get to go to lunch at my favorite Chinese food place here in Austin...Wanfu Too on Barton springs!!! It's fabulous and I still have leftovers to look forward to! On that note I'm gone leave the office and go visit my dog!

Have a great night all!!

Austin baby!!

Ok so it has taken me a while to figure this whole blog thing out but I am going to see how it goes and maybe stick with this better than i ever did with my journals!

My life since graduating (finaly) in december from ACU:
-I went to work with the San Antonio Spurs, loved the people, loved the Team, hated the city, hated being broker than broke!!!
-UT won The National Championship (it's a big deal in my world)
-I got an offer for a job in Austin and started 4 days later!
-I moved in with my parents for 2 months and now live in a great apartment with my sister!!
-I met up with and old friend for lunch in June. We had lunch, and dinner and have been together everyday since and he (Jake) is the Love of my life!!!
-Jake and I went to Mexico on vacation in August and it was finaly the break I needed since I started working 2 days after graduation!
-I went to ACL fest again this year and still say that everyone needs to come down for it!! Well worth the $150!

All and all that is pretty much it. Not too much but enough to keep me busy!

Jake and me in mexico!!
A little about my guy(s)!
Jake is a champ because my family is crazy and my friends are protective, and he is great with all of them. He even survived a weekend full of some of my girlfriends only 5 days after we started dating!!! He puts up with my crazy need to cry every other second and he loves me like i have never been loved before. He's my best friend and I have more than enough fun with him every day. Anytime I need a pick me up or a smile Jake is there with his guitar to sing me a song! I don't want to drag the greatness of Jake out so just know that he is fabulous and I have never been this happy!! Oh yeah we have a dog named Benson who is the greatest thing ever! I love him and he is perfect, even if he is a little odd at times!!

Jake and Benson

So anyway that in a very small nutshell sums up what I have been doing since ACU and where I am at now. I'm not sure how regular I will be about writing and I am not sure who all will even read this but it's a source of release for me to write...no matter how bad my spelling, grammar, and punctuation may be!

Love to all and best wishes till I see you again!!
